But there are a lot of thrift businesses who NEED eBay to survive. The "Shark Tank" type companies can do the same. The private-label-junk-import guys can go to Amazon and they'll be fine. Sell your X-Box to a pawn shop for $50 instead of eBay for $100. People selling their personal stuff can (and will) disappear. The problem is that they control the livelihoods of tens of thousands of owner/operator type businesses. They're pretty average in terms of how they function themselves.

That was pre-2011 (back when I wrongfully trusted eBay to hold my catalog data. I could never get Turbo Lister to work after 3000-or-so listings were populated. They had a good run for the first 10-or-so years. Seems to be the general consensus that nobody wants to work with eBay in any capacity. Mostly developers who link up with BigCommerce, SEO, and Google/Bing Shopping integrations. You know, I've recently been dealing with some eCommerce companies lately. "They closed all the API's to developers last month." Is this true? I assume that means they closed the API to new developer accounts?
