When using the mobile robotic arm you should be able to expand it with RT on a controller but this did not work for me forcing me to use a keyboard and mouse for these segments. At no point in the game was this anything but a setback.

The story's concept is interesting but lacks a lot of body and depth. Lifeless Planet is a game I feel pretty indifferent about. It would be a very different experience without it. It is, in my opinion, one of the best scores for a video game ever, as it is haunting and gives so much atmosphere to the game. Not a lot is said about the music in games but this is one where the sound effects are really good and the music is simply outstanding. I don't want to give anything away, but there are some game mechanics that are only used a couple of times but they're quite fun and could be used more or combined. And maybe adding a bit more of a challenge in a few places. I would love to see the developer enhance the game at some point, adding support for ultra-wide monitors at least. My only criticism is that you don't get to spend long enough in some locations, they are so lovely to look at. But there is so much attention to detail in the layout of the path you have to take, with many twists and turns through varied alien landscapes. Some people describe it as a walking simulator, which is fair enough as you are essentially on a long journey from start to finish, with a few traps to avoid and a few very light puzzles to do along the way. I think the best thing about Lifeless Planet is the level design, closely followed by the music and story. I enjoyed the game again and remembered parts of it I had forgotten. I didn't manage that - it took nearly 4 1/2 hours. I first played about 2 years ago and again now, to get the achievement for completing the game in less than 4 hours.
